Details for "Children's Bureau - Shake, Rattle & "Rolls""

As a member of the Board of Directors for the Children's Bureau of New Orleans, I send this special request to the technology community.

The New Orleans community suffers from too much violent crime. Who helps the innocent children, who are victims and witnesses to these violent crimes, overcome their grief?  The CHILDREN’S BUREAU (of New Orleans). CBNO has a successful history of providing mental health services to children. Its programs are proven to alleviate psychological, social and behavioral problems in children. CBNO consistently is ranked among the highest of all United Way membership agencies.

There is a desperate need for mental health services for children in our community.  Children served by CBNO not only have to overcome trauma caused by crime but also continue to be exposed to many stressors related to the Hurricane Katrina recovery process such as displaced family members, multiple family households, and moving from school to school. Currently, CBNO doesn’t have the resources to fulfill all the needs of the community and is forced to create a waiting list. I am asking for your help so that CBNO can continue to provide the kind of services needed to give the children of our community a chance – a chance to be mentally healthy, stable and caring youngsters who can grow to become the responsible adults we know they can become with our help.

The CBNO planning a fundraising event on NOVEMBER 14, 2008 (postponed from September 20) called The Children’s Bureau Shake, Rattle & “Rolls. The fundraiser will be held at Henry Shane’s, private museum, Cars of Yesteryears, featuring over one hundred classic cars.  Henry’s collection is recognized as the most interesting and impressive in the Gulf South region. And he just recently completed an expansion of the museum and his collection. It truly is a time capsule of automobile and New Orleans memorabilia. New Orleans vocalist, Sharon Martin, who has performed at Jazz Fest will be providing the entertainment, and New Orleans food and drinks will be provided by Ernst Café.

Please help us make Shake, Rattle & “Rolls” a success by sponsoring our event or by purchasing tickets. Sponsorship levels are as follows:

  • Checkered Flag - $5,000, title sponsorship, reserved tables for 10 couple-tickets and a personal waiter
  • Rally Racer - $2,500, reserved tables for 10 couple-tickets and a personal
  • GT Coupe - $1,000, 5 couple-tickets
All Sponsors will be recognized on signage at the fundraiser and in the CBNO's Annual Report. Tickets for the fundraiser are $150 per couple. If you can’t attend, please take this opportunity to make a donation of any amount. Your donation combined with others will help ensure that the mental health needs of child victims throughout the Greater New Orleans area will not go unmet.
Please see the attached flyer for information on sponsorship and tickets.
Thank you and I look forward to seeing you at the event.
