Speaker Jerome Jordan

Building a Home that can Withstand the Next Katrina

Jerome Jordan, Shell Project Manager

Jerome Jordan is a Shell Exploration and Production West IT Project Manager in the Shell Production Offshore and Engineering Projects Organization.

He has recently been struggling to decide whether Project Management is his desired career path at Shell and has been asked by his manager to manage an internal project to improve the overall job satisfaction of the Production Offshore and Engineering Projects Team.

Jerome's presentation will be about how he used his project management skills and experience to rebuild his house according to the specifications provided by the Corps of Engineers, FEMA, and the New Orleans Recovery guidelines.  The new home should be capable of avoiding a re-occurrence of the problems he faced from Katrina.  Included will be the challenges he faced dealing with New Orleans agencies, sub-contractors and neighbors, a long list of lessons learned, and the positive outcome he expects to have when finished!
