DISNEY INSTITUTE BUSINESS PROGRAMS

Disney Institute is bringing its renowned professional development program, Disney’s Approach to Leadership Excellence, to the Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center on July 15. GCGCA MEMBERSHIP DRIVE AND INFORMATION

The Gulf Coast Government Contractors Association (GCGCA), a new LTC partner organization, is still accepting Charter Members for its inaugural year beginning 1 July, 2010. Corporations who join soon will still be able to put forth nominations and vote for the incoming Board of Directors. Interested companies should visit their website at GCGCA.org for membership information and enrollment. GCGCA will soon be commencing Industry Symposiums with government agencies that will present their operations, capabilities, contracting needs, vehicles and opportunities, as well as proposal tips and insight. The first symposium will be held on 11 August and will feature SPAWAR-Atlantic, a Navy organization with over $400 billion in ongoing contracts, including significant presence in New Orleans.

LSU PHYSICS PROFESSOR JORGE PULLIN CHAIRS SELECTION COMMITTEE FOR EINSTEIN PRIZE

Jorge Pullin, a professor in the LSU Department of Physics & Astronomy and Interim co-Director of the LSU Center for Computation & Technology, or CCT, is chairing the American Physical Society’s selection committee for the prestigious Einstein Prize. The Einstein Prize is an international honor awarded every two years that recognizes outstanding achievements in gravitational physics research. Previous winners are Peter Bergmann, John Wheeler, Bryce DeWitt, Rainer Weiss, Ronald Drever and Jim Hartle. Most of the previous winners are members of the National Academy of Sciences, and Bergmann and Wheeler were collaborators of Albert Einstein. The Einstein Prize is the most important honor the American Physical Society awards in this field. Read the full news release here.
